Prostate Cancer
The King’s Health Partners Prostate Cancer Biobank, established in 2013, was created in response to growing demand from local researchers. It collects samples from patients undergoing treatment for prostate cancer within the Urological Cancer team at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer affecting men in the UK, with 1 in 8 men diagnosed annually. At Guy’s and St Thomas’, approximately 600 new cases are identified each year.

Since its launch, the biobank has expanded considerably, now including samples from over 2,500 consenting patients. Alongside these samples, the biobank collects valuable data, including pathological reports, patient demographics, clinical information, and follow-up records, all of which are made available for research purposes.

Applications to access the biobank’s samples or data are accepted from investigators in both academic and commercial sectors.
