Myeloproliferative
Neoplasms

The King’s Health Partners Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPN) Biobank was established in 2016 and collects samples and data from patients diagnosed or treated at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

MPNs are a group of blood disorders that affect the body’s ability to produce blood cells. There are three main types of MPN disorders: Essential Thrombocythemia, Polycythaemia Vera, and Myelofibrosis. The Biobank collects samples from these main subtypes as well as from patients with rarer diagnoses.

The biobank holds a growing collection of blood and bone marrow samples, along with their derivatives, which are linked to comprehensive pathological data, patient demographics, clinical details, and follow-up information. To date, the MPN Biobank has accumulated over 10,000 individual patient samples and continues to expand.

Applications to access the biobank’s samples or data are accepted from investigators in both academic and commercial sectors.
